Atlantium’s Hydro-Optic Disinfection™ system’s new RZ104, RZ163 and RZ300 Series enhances Atlantium's already innovative product offering. Highlighted by a compact modular design which allows addition of units to accommodate a range of flow rates and applications, the RZ is easily integrated into existing or new facilities.
The RZ Series provides very high log disinfection levels with high efficiency, thus the cost per volume of treated water is among the lowest in the industry. Their flexible, modular design means systems are configured to optimally, economically and safely meet customers' disinfection goals, while reducing operation and maintenance costs in a broad range of applications.
RZ Series: What's new?
Lowest life-cycle cost, lowest power-to-flow ratio: the system's quartz disinfection chamber acts as a conduit for light, converting every ounce of light photons into utilized disinfection power. The result is a high log reduction using fewer lamps and ballasts, all contributing to lower O&M compared to conventional
UV and ultimately, greater ROI's.
Minimal head loss and unimpeded water flow: in-line construction in which water flows through a high grade and obstacle-free quartz chamber; no brushes to break down or baffles to accumulate biofilm.
Temperature-independent operation: unique hydraulic design, lamp placement and lamp chamber design which remains cool, allows system to operate independent of lamp temperature, resulting in insignificant temperature gradient within the water stream.
Continuous ultrasonic cleaning deters deposit formation and ensures maximum utilization of UV light efficiency in the disinfection chamber.
Reduced Cleaning in Place cycles resulting from decreased deposits in the disinfection chamber.

Advantages of quartz disinfection chamber
The quartz disinfection chamber is designed according to the principle of Total Internal Reflection and ensures UV light is reflected back into the water, leading to a uniform UV dose distribution, the key to reliable microbial inactivation.

Highly effective medium-pressure UV lamps
Atlantium's specially designed MPHI lamps are proven to deliver highly effective disinfection via a fuller range of unrecoverable damage to microorganisms.
Protected UV lamps
UV lamps are housed within a short, thick quartz sleeve which significantly reduces risk of breakage and its consequences.
Low maintenance UV lamps
Short (up to 30 cm / 12 in), custom-designed, Quick Connect UV lamps are changed in just 7 minutes using Atlantium's Lamp Replacement Tool with no need to shut the system down.
Comprehensive system monitoring
- Dual sensors for each UV lamp provide continuous measurement of water UV transmissivity (clarity) and lamp intensity (temperature)
- Control software receives continuous readings of water flow rate
- Automated system adjusts required dose based on real-time measurements
Monitoring and Control software continuously calculates the UV dose required. Based on real-time measurements and required dose, degree of lamp intensity is automatically readjusted, ensuring energy is expended only on the dose required - not more.
Full reporting capabilities
Logging capabilities record dose, UV transmissivity, water flow and lamp intensity data; reports showing disinfection history and/or regulatory compliance are easily generated.
