We are pleased to announce Atlantium Technologies has invested in Enspired Solutions, a remediation company that has developed PFASigator™, a unique system for the safe elimination of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
These highly toxic synthetic chemicals, used in a wide range of industry and consumer products, aren’t biodegradable — hence their reputation as “forever chemicals.” PFAS results in long-term contamination, posing a threat to the environment and human health. While regulations have been in place for years, a national legally enforceable drinking water standard was recently issued in the United States regarding the release of PFAS to the environment, resulting in a pressing need for effective solutions.
To meet the ongoing challenge, Enspired developed the PFASigator™, which uses a process called photoactivated reductive defluorination. Coupled with Atlantium’s HOD™ (Hydro-Optic Disinfection) UV technology, it stimulates an energy-efficient reaction that disassembles PFAS molecules to water and harmless compounds.
The entire process is carried out onsite, without the need for offsite disposal. The system, one of the few worldwide able to safely destroy PFAS, easily connects to existing water treatment systems.
Atlantium worked closely with Enspired to ensure the technology implementation was successful and delivered the desired results. Following the successful integration, Atlantium decided to invest in Enspired Solutions, which continues to develop leading solutions for PFAS contamination.
